Hello. First on the list today is general housekeeping.
Evidently, people I don’t know are actually reading my blog. This is great! A bit nerve-wracking, but great, nonetheless. After all, if I didn’t want strangers to read my words, well, then I wouldn’t be blogging in the first place.
Since this seems to be the case, I am going to give some suggestions on posting to my blog. I want to publish as many comments as possible, but there are a few I will not. Hopefully, the former will far outweigh the latter. Before you grumble (or rant) about censureship and freedom of speech, please read my FAQs where I already address those issues.
First of all, I highly value humor and snark. If you are witty, self-deprecating, imaginative, and/or laugh-out loud funny, I will publish your post. As humor is subjective, you’ll just have to try your best.
Second of all, I ask you to be civil in your comment. I am open to an honest, engaged debate, but I am not open to an angry screed denouncing entire populations, especially when said screed is far off-tangent of what I actually wrote. There are plenty of forums for that kind of thing (they are called bars in real life), and it’s just not of interest to me.
Third of all, I love to learn. If you write a comment that makes me think about something in a new way, I will definitely post it. If you can introduce me to a new word, well, I’ll be greatly indebted to you.
So, to sum up, welcome to all who are reading my blog. Please comment while keeping these three things in mind: Be funny (or snarky); be civil (and respectful), and be intelligent (and/or eloquent). Now, back to your regularly-scheduled program.

Sorry, comments are closed for this post.
